Abir Karami is a teacher-researcher in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI). She obtained her thesis in 2011 on Markov decision models for human-robot interaction. Since then, she has been working on research topics around human-centered intelligent systems (intelligent habitats, companion robots, serious games, recommendation). Through her work, she contributes in the following areas: decision making under uncertainty and behavioural modelling from interaction traces using reinforcement learning and semi-supervised learning. She publishes in conferences and journals in AI and Human Machine Interaction. Abir Karami teaches computer science and AI to various audiences (bachelor, master, lifelong learning). She practices the agile project-based pedagogy and contributes to the evaluation and evolution of this pedagogical method.
