Rania Wehbi (PhD, MSc, BEng in civil engineering) is an assistant professor at Junia HEI – Lille Catholic University in France. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master’s degree in civil engineering, speciality in transportation and road safety from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), Lebanon. She got her PhD in civil engineering from Lille University in France. During her Ph.D., she has developed a smart solution to enhance building safety and security by managing indoor hazards management (especially fire hazard) using BIM and other digital technologies. Moreover, she developed an innovative methodology for limiting the spread of COVID-19 in higher education establishments based on social integration and inhabitant feedback and needs. She was involved in several national and international projects related to smart city, transportation, and safety. In 2017, she was the president of the American Society of C²ivil Engineering (ASCE) – USEK Branch in Lebanon, where she actively coordinated successful start-ups and projects. She teaches courses in the areas of BIM, CIM, smart management system, energy, sustainable development, and governance. Her research studies are based on BIM & Digital Twins to improve the quality of life & safety of habitats in buildings and in the city as bigger scale.
